This Privacy Policy explains what information the KuttyTail mobile app (“KuttyTail”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use and protect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. KuttyTail is an AI-powered pet health companion that lets you log your pet's daily activities, analyse a pet photo, and receive health insights and reminders.

The short version: We collect the account and pet information you give us, the photos and voice notes you choose to add, and basic technical/diagnostic data so the app works and stays reliable. We use trusted service providers to process some of it (e.g. AI analysis, file storage, crash reporting). We do not sell your data. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time — see Delete your account.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo. If you instead verify by email, we collect your email address and a one-time verification code. We assign you an account identifier.
Pet information. Pet profiles and the daily activity you log — food, water, walks, medication and notes — plus vaccination records.
Photos. Pet photos and vaccination-card images you choose to upload.
Voice recordings. Audio you record for voice logging, and the text transcript produced from it.

Information created by AI features

AI analysis results. Breed, colour and trait estimates derived from a pet photo; activities extracted from a voice note; vaccine details extracted from a card; and health insights computed from your logged data.

Information collected automatically

Device & technical data. A device signature generated on first launch (a trust signal), app version and device/OS information.
Push notification token. So we can send reminders you've enabled.
Diagnostics & usage analytics. Crash logs, performance diagnostics and in-app interaction events that help us keep the app stable and improve it. Includes device identifiers used by these tools.

3. How we use your information

To provide the app's core features — logging, voice logging, AI photo analysis, insights, vaccination tracking and reminders.
To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
To send push notifications and reminders you've enabled.
To monitor, debug and improve reliability and performance.
To protect against fraud, abuse and security threats, and to comply with legal obligations.

Where required by law, we rely on your consent (e.g. for optional features you choose to use), the performance of our service to you, and our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and functional.

4. Service providers who process data for us

To run KuttyTail we rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers that process data strictly on our behalf — for example, to handle sign-in, AI photo and voice analysis, media storage, app hosting, push notifications and crash diagnostics. These providers are permitted to use the data only to deliver those services to us, and some of them may process it in the United States or other countries with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your data or share it for third-party advertising. As the app evolves we may change the specific providers we work with; this section describes the categories of processing rather than naming each one. 5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active so the app can function. When you request deletion, we remove your account and associated data as described in Delete your account. Uploaded media stored on our CDN is removed within 30 days of deletion, and residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 90 days. Diagnostics and analytics held by our providers are retained according to their standard retention periods.

6. Your rights & choices

Access & correction. You can view and edit your pet profiles and logs in the app, or contact us for a copy of your data.
Deletion. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time — see Delete your account.
Notifications. You can turn off push reminders in your device settings.
Withdraw consent. You can stop using optional features (voice, photo) at any time.

7. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed authentication tokens, short-lived access tokens, and access controls limiting who can reach your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

8. Children's privacy

KuttyTail is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

We and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using KuttyTail you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, with appropriate safeguards.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, when new features are added). We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
